DEVELOPMENT OF NEW INPUTS

Luciano seeks to reinterpret natural materials, considered waste or pollutants, as new sustainable materials for the fashion market. An example of this is fish scales – a material considered waste from the fishing industry, which are processed by a group of women from the Flores do Mar project in Marataízes / ES. Luciano developed a method for the Fabiana Milazzo brand to dye these scales with food dyes and adapt them for the embroidery process, all done by hand, scale by scale. Fabiana Milazzo, inspired by the work of artist Vik Muniz, sought unusual elements such as the scale sequins developed by Luciano. Fabiana Milazzo presented the scale sequins in one of the editions of São Paulo Fashion Week.

MATERIALS WITH LESS IMPACT

Luciano Pinheiro, who holds a master's degree in Textiles and Fashion from USP and is a doctoral candidate in the Applied Ecology program at USP Esalq, researches new sustainable materials, combining technological research and development with groups of artisans and riverside communities. Luciano values materials derived from nature.

OUR STAMPS

In our production process, we are constantly concerned with social and environmental issues, while also focusing on research, innovation, and technology. We believe that every stage of production is important in developing the final product and the message the brand aims to convey. We are seeking new ways to reinforce this connection. Substitution and use of materials less aggressive to the environment

We are always looking for less aggressive materials that generate less environmental impact. With this in mind, we look for companies that use less aggressive materials, such as Tilapia leather, cotton, leather waste, and the reuse of other existing waste that would otherwise go to landfill.

Social

We seek to create partnerships with small businesses as a source of raw materials and production for our pieces, thereby forming a link with small producers and needy communities.

Use of recyclable waste materials

We believe that sustainability is more than just using less polluting materials. We value the transformation, reuse, disposal, and design of new products using materials that would otherwise go to waste.

The values of past traditions, research, and innovation are closely intertwined in our thinking. We seek to bring exquisitely executed manual techniques together with design.

In search of lower-impact materials, Luciano Pinheiro began developing new textile materials, new techniques, and seeking partnerships with small national producers. Through Inspiramais, Latin America's largest national textile input platform, which values creative brands and national artists who develop projects with lower-impact inputs, Luciano develops specific projects with major brands for fashion, accessories, and home decor lines. Below are some unconventional textile materials that are part of Luciano Pinheiro's DNA and universe.

NATURAL DYE Organic Cotton

Luciano is a researcher in natural dyes and creates prints on organic cotton produced by women's cooperatives, such as Justa Trama.

NATURAL FIBERS

Through partnerships with small producers, Luciano develops products using natural straws and fibers, such as jute, buriti, and banana tree – raw materials with less environmental impact.

FISH LEATHER

we seek to use natural elements that are re-signified, such as fish leather produced by NGOs and women's cooperatives like RIO & MAR and TILÁPIA LEATHER, which reuse fish skin from local fishing production.

PEELS AND SEEDS

We reuse elements from nature and give them new meaning as art and design objects, such as the use of husks, seeds, and scales.

RECYCLED COTTON FIBER

We seek out materials that carry a story within them. The use of materials like recycled cotton contributes to the environment by preventing textile waste from being discarded in landfills, in addition to fostering the local economy and supporting small producers.

JUTE – NATURAL DYEING

The partnership with the Castanhal company arose from the need to offer fashion inputs with lower impact and high social and cultural value. Luciano Pinheiro developed the first dyeing on Castanhal's textiles, through his approximation with the company in the Inspiramais projects, re-signifying the use of raw material for the Brazilian and international fashion market.

RESEARCH

We seek to study new forms of use and beneficiation of natural materials, thus working hand in hand with scientific research, art, and design.

WE CREATE NEW MATERIALS

One of Luciano Pinheiro's premises is the development of new materials using local inputs, such as the insole dyed and manufactured by Luciano, using textile from the company Juta Castanhal. This product was presented at the Inspiramais fair by the designer himself.

ORGANIC SILK

We use silk from Casulo Feliz, a long-standing partner company, for which Luciano develops prints and other creations for the national fashion market.

RAW MATERIAL

Our raw material is 100% Brazilian. We develop handcrafted products using natural materials. Our raw material is a priceless source of inspiration!

We develop our products using Kind Leather, which is traceable. Among the most sustainable leathers on the planet, it embodies sustainability principles throughout its entire process.

The leather we use is LWG/Leather Working Group certified, the leading environmental certification for leathers.

CARE GUIDE

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SHOES
  • For better preservation of your footwear's weaves, avoid contact between one foot and the other. Store them separately in the cotton bags we provide.
  • Direct contact with products containing solvents, oil, abrasive elements, and even water should be avoided, as they can cause stains or damage to the fibers or parts of the shoe.
  • Do not wash the shoes. In case of accidental wetting, allow them to dry naturally in the shade. Never use a dryer, oven, or any other type of drying method other than natural drying.
  • Do not leave exposed to the sun.
  • Contact between the handmade textiles of the shoe and other colored or greasy items should be avoided, and friction should be prevented, as they can damage the fibers or stain.
  • Be careful with sharp objects and rough materials, as they can damage the loom's weaves.

  • For better preservation of your bag's weave. Use our cotton packaging to store it safely.
  • Ideally, store the pieces always hung and stuffed. This way, your pieces maintain their original shape and impeccable friction.
  • Direct contact with products containing solvents, oil, alcohol, abrasive elements, and even water should be avoided, as they can cause stains or damage to the fibers or parts of the bag.
  • Do not apply adhesive tape to the product's surface, as it may cause the superficial layer of the leather to peel off, leaving unwanted marks.
  • Do not wash the bag. In accidental cases, let it dry naturally in the shade. Never use a dryer, oven, or any type of drying other than natural.
  • Do not expose to the sun.
  • Avoid contact of the bag's handmade textiles with other colored or greasy items, and avoid friction, as they can damage the fibers or stain.
  • Be careful with sharp materials and rough materials, as they can damage the loom's weave.
